Biography
Dr. Ovidio A. Garcia-Villarreal is a cardiac surgeon dedicated to the private practice, retired from the social medicine. He is the past president of the Mexican society of cardiac surgery, and the Current President of the Mexican college of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. He has been working on the mitral, aortic and tricuspid reconstruction for more than 25 years. He has been pioneer in the field of cardiac arrhythmia surgery, especially in atrial fibrillation surgery (Cox-maze procedure) as well as in aortic valve sparing operations in Mexico. He has implemented national surgical models for valvular heart reconstruction and maze procedure. He has been also dedicated to clinical research, with more than 50 international publications in PubMed. Editor-in -chief of the journal Cirugia Cardiaca en Mexico, and reviewer in more than 15 international journals. He is active member of the Mexican Society of cardiac Surgery, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgery, amongst others.

Biography
Since 1979 He have been engaged in research in the field of physiology and medicine, as well as medical equipment engineering. From 1980 to 1989. He was engaged in space medicine. Supervised the development of methods and instruments for detecting the psycho-physiological state of spacecraft human operators. In 1990 established a private educational institution “The Institute of Chinese medicineâ€. Up to 1998 17 professors of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) from China worked in the institute. Excellently mastered the theory and practice of TCM. Wrote several books on TCM and eastern philosophy. Created an educational course for western doctors. In 1991 took an active part in foundation of a private educational institution “Russian New University†(http://www.rosnou.ru) in Moscow. Now 25000 students study there. At the university headed the scientific school of hemodynamic studies of cardiovascular system. The created team continued the cardiological studies started in 1980. In 2010 created a fundamentally new theory of cardiovascular hemodynamics based on an innovative theory of cardiac cycle phase analysis. The published in 2007 book “Theoretical principles of heart cycle phase analysis†is indexed in WoS. In the process of research 9 laws of physiology were revealed. The theory of axiomatics in cardiology and the logical apparatus of cardiological data analysis are based of the laws. It became the basis of a new fundamental science, cardiometry, which is based on laws of natural sciences, that was impossible in cardiology before. It is a unique phenomenon in the history of sciences as it is the first time when it became possible to both describe mathematically the hemodynamics and transfer the proof theory from natural sciences to medicine. It revealed new unique capabilities in cardiology. The cardiometric theory has been practically implemented (http://www.cardiocode.ru) A member of ESC W.G. on e-cardiology, ID439666. Take an active part in the W.G. conferences and meetings. The above discoveries and unique results require to be highlighted in press. In 2012 an electronic open access journal Cardiometry on http://www.cardiometry.net was launched. Now it is popular in 140 countries. The journal’s Editorial board members are prominent researchers from different countries including two Nobel Prize laureates. The journal is thematic. Each issue is devoted to a certain problem that makes the journal more attractive and readable. It is indexed in 20 databases.
